Abans Structured Notes Fund is a Category II AIF (Alternative Investment Fund) registered under the SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) AIF Regulations, 2012.
Alternative Investment Fund or AIF means any fund established or incorporated in India which is a privately pooled investment vehicle which collects funds from sophisticated investors, whether Indian or Foreign, for investing it in accordance with a defined investment policy for the benefit of its investors. Category II AIF’s are those which do not undertake any borrowings or leverage other than to meet its day to day operational requirements. Various types of funds such as Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Estate, etc are registered as Category II AIF.
NRI/Overseas Investors can invest in Nifty 50 (benchmark Indian Index) linked Structured Products/Structured Notes issued by Abans Group by subscribing to the Fund. As per the existing FEMA regulations, NRI/Overseas Investors cannot invest directly in privately placed instruments such as Structured Notes. By subscribing to the Fund, the investor is allotted units of the fund and the fund in turn subscribes to the Structured Notes, hence ensuring compliance with FEMA Regulations.
